China Jiliang University (CJLU) is located in the city of Hangzhou, the capital of the Zhejiang Province, located about 190 km southwesterly of Shanghai.. It was founded in 1978, originally established to dedicate itself to the area of metrology (hence the Chinese name China Institute of Metrology). Today it is recognized as the top university in China for Metrology, Quality Engineering, Quality Supervision, and Standardization.
While engineering is the focus, CJLU is, however, a comprehensive university that offers many disciplines, including engineering, science, management, law, literature, economics, medicine, and philosophy. It has about 20,000 full-time students, studying in its 18 colleges on two campuses. It offers about 50 bachelor's and 30 master’s programs, including two engineering programs.
